Structure
Bangladesh Scouts PR & Marketing Division is headed by its National Commissioner Mr. Muhammad Kamal Uddin. He is assisted by two Deputy National Commissioners and two Professional Scout Executives. Bangladesh Scouts has a functional PR & Marketing Committee with 22 Members. National Commissioner ( PR & Marketing) Chairs that committee.
Functions
The main function of Bangladesh Scouts PR & Marketing division is to plan and implement activities & projects as to create public image of Scouting. Mass media ( Radio, Television, Newspaper) in Bangladesh has good support in broadcasting, showing and flashing Scout activities participated in by young people, young adults and Adult Leaders. Bangladesh Television hosts 30 minutes programme on Scouting message and youth action oriented activities every month. Press release goes on major events. Scout groups/units are encouraged to create and prepare television programmes. PR & Marketing Division plays close coordinating between internet and external public, civil organization, government departments, NGOs and so on.
Special Project :
Bangladesh Scouts monthly magazine " AGRADOOT" which means leading messenger was first published in 1957 when Bangladesh was a part of Pakistan.
Agradoot features articles on Scouting, songs & poems, stories, scout news, advertisement, scout quiz, etc. A nominal subscription fees of Taka 60.00 ( equivalent to arround 1 dollar) for local subscribes. The charge includes mailing cost. Agradoot has become a significant tool for marketing Scouting in the country.
